Mass Exodus: Harris Loses Another Staffer Amid Allegations of ‘Soul-Destroying’ and ‘Bully’ Work Environment

A damaging CNN report accused Kamala Harris of creating a hostile work environment.

The outlet interviewed nearly three dozen current and former staffers for Harris which showed there is significant dysfunction within her team.

Multiple top aides on Harri’s team have quit, including veteran communications chief Ashley Etienne who previously worked for Obama, Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi.

A former staffer told CNN, “With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence.”

“So you’re constantly sort of propping up a bully and it’s not really clear why,” the former staffer says about Harris’ behavior behind closed doors.

This week we have learned that Harris’ chief of staff Tina Flournoy will be leaving the administration and replaced by top adviser Lorraine Voles in the latest shakeup in Harris’ office, according to the White House.

Voles was brought into Harris’ office by Flournoy last summer, as the vice president faced negative headlines for a flurry of staffers leaving her office, Fox News reports:

Harris tapped Flournoy, a veteran Democratic strategist and aide to the Clintons, as her chief of staff in December 2020.

Harris, in a statement, praised the departing Flournoy, calling her a “valued advisor and confidant to me and tremendous leader for the office.”

“Tina is the consummate public servant and I will continue to rely on her advice, counsel and friendship,” the vice president said.

Flournoy marks the 13th departure from the vice president’s office. Harris’ deputy chief of staff, Michael Fuchs, is also leaving the White House in the coming weeks.

Harris’ national security adviser, Nancy McEldowney, stepped down last month and her spokesperson, Symone Sanders, left the White House in December.

“Harris is struggling with a rocky relationship with some parts of the White House,” CNN reported about Harris, who once even accused Joe Biden of being racist during the Democratic primary race.

In the wave of this horrible publicity, an article from The Washington Post is titled, “A Kamala Harris staff exodus reignites questions about her leadership style — and her future ambitions.”

“Staffers who worked for Harris before she was vice president said one consistent problem was that Harris would refuse to wade into briefing materials prepared by staff members, then berate employees when she appeared unprepared,” the report states.

“It’s clear that you’re not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work,” a former staffer said.

Former Democratic strategist and Harris aide Gil Duran quit after working for her for only five months in 2013.

Duran explained, “One of the things we’ve said in our little text groups among each other is what is the common denominator through all this and it’s her.”

“Who are the next talented people you’re going to bring in and burn through and then have [them] pretend they’re retiring for positive reasons?”
